Project Description

SCOPE OF SERVICES

To prepare the project playing field design and performance specifications for "Natural" playing field surface as it related to the renovation of the existing stadium baseball field. The playing field specification contained all the required playing field components necessary in order to meet the NCAA standards and insurance that the quality assurance and quality control program for the playing field construction would result in the standards being met.

It's all about understanding soil" One of the problem encountered on this project was the under lying unsuitable and unstable soil conditions of the playing field. Working with the project geotechnical engineer we incorporated in to the design and specifications a 30 mil perforated structural liner that allowed water to move to the playing field lateral collectors and eliminated the high and low spots that had typically developed prior to the renovations of this playing field.

In addition, the University requested that the new playing field design incorporate a new state of the art sub-surface underdrain collection system and details for the new playing field renovation. The firm was retained to provide on-site quality control and quality assurance during the construction phase.
